Schmucker, Samuel Simon
(1799-1873) Шмакер, Сэмюэл Саймон
Либеральный лютеранский теолог, педагог. Выступал за единство апостольской протестантской церкви. В 1820 основал Большой Синод [Great Synod] - первую конфессиональную структуру, объединившую лютеранские приходы в США. В 1826 основал Лютеранскую семинарию [Lutheran Seminary] в г. Геттисберге, шт. Пенсильвания, профессором которой он оставался в течение 38 лет. В 1832 основал Геттисбергский колледж [Gettysburg College]. В 1834 издал труд "Элементы популярной теологии" ["Elements of Popular Theology"] - первую работу об американском лютеранстве
